What are we doing?

After getting married on January 6th, 2007 we had a honeymoon and then flew to England. Why? Well it wasn't because of the beautiful weather and the abundance of sunshine...

We're working here in the UK at the Wycliffe Centre, near the town of High Wycombe. The Centre is home to Wycliffe Bible Translators, an organisation that is devoted to translating the Bible into every language that needs a translation, so that all people on earth can read the Bible in their own heart language.

Mark had already been working with Wycliffe for 3 and a half years before we got married - most of the time spent in Tanzania where he was travelling around surveying the various languages there to see the need for Bible translation.

Now we're here based in the UK for a year or two working in the Wycliffe offices. Mark has taken on the role of Recruitment Coordinator, which means keeping in touch with people enquiring about serving with Wycliffe, and giving them information about the organisation, as well as arranging the language-related assignments.

Laura is working as the Personal Assisstant to the Executive Director, meaning that she is emailing people overseas, planning trips for the ED, taking minutes at meetings and organising random things on the centre. It is a challenging role, but something that she really enjoys doing.

We're hoping to return to Africa one day - probably Tanzania which we both love - to serve the Lord there, but we know that he has us in the UK for now so we're keeping our winter coats and umbrellas out for the moment!
